Who to Follow on Twitter?

I wanted to switch things up this week and write something a bit different. One thing I love about working in the realm of data is the supportive community.

Whenever I have been stuck building a solution in Power Query or unsuccessful in my attempts to create visuals in ggplot2, I have been able to find a blog or forum post addressing the issue.

I appreciate the effort and time everyone in the community takes to ask and respond to questions. This is one of the reasons I started this website. I wanted to play my part in giving back.

One of the questions I get asked the most is where to keep up to date with all of the changes in all things data. I want to highlight some of the profiles on Twitter that share compelling content that inspires me and gets me excited to try new things in Power BI, R and beyond!

Here are five people, in no particular order, that I follow and read a lot of their content.

This is far from a comprehensive list, but these individuals consistently pop up on my Twitter timeline and continue to inspire me with their content, feedback and opinions.

I have made a note of the twitter handle and area of content that I read the most for each person.

David Eldersveld – Power BI

Leila Etaati – Power BI & R

Wyn Hopkins – Power Query

Ken Puls – Power Query

Mara Averick – R

Thank you for your contributions and helping me out at one point (well many, many points) even if you were not aware you were doing so!

Next week I will review some of the updates to Power BI Desktop for March. There will likely be a heavy emphasis on report page tooltips. This is really powerful new feature, so be sure to check out my review!
